Use the Pre-loaded assessment programmes without alteration
This is the normal procedure, at least initially.
The Pre-Loaded assessments are packed with features, and will normally
suffice not only for your first self-assessment, but also for all your
Service Management related assessment requirements.
Minor modifications to Pre-loaded assessment
programmes
This
will typically involve the addition of extra secondary questions which are
particularly relevant to the individual customer. It may also
involve some rewording of questions to suit local terminology.
Weighting characteristics and Cross-referenced reporting indicators can also
be altered at this stage
Major modifications to Pre-loaded assessment programmes
This may take the form of the
deletion or addition of a large proportion of questions.
This modification is normally subject to an audit by Northallan to ensure
that the process integrity
Creation of own assessment
programmes
This option commences with a blank sheet, and will normally
be for assessments other than IT Service Management or ISO20000
Selection of individual or
groups of disciplines from pre-loaded data
Customers may wish
to assess only certain parts of their Service Management processes.
Reasons include process outsourcing, key staff shortages and concentration
on areas of concern. Although BS15000
accreditation will not be achieved without assessment of all disciplines,
this method is ideal as an interim measure.
SMART's reporting tools advise clearly which
disciplines have been omitted or part completed
